If you’ve booked the Standard or Ultimate package, the mechanic will also give you a direct phone call to explain the findings so you fully understand the vehicle’s condition before reading the report.

Why are EV inspections different from regular car inspections?
EVs don’t have engines, gearboxes, or exhausts, but they do have battery packs that can cost $10,000–$30,000 to replace. A standard mechanic inspection won’t assess battery degradation or EV-specific software faults. Our EV inspection includes an Aviloo certified battery health test specifically designed for electric vehicles, which a general inspection simply can’t replicate.
What does the Aviloo battery test tell me?
The Aviloo test measures the battery’s State of Health (SoH), how much of its original capacity remains. It shows you exactly how degraded the battery is, gives you an independent certified report, and tells you what range you can realistically expect from the vehicle. It’s the most trusted EV battery test available in Australia.
How much does a pre purchase EV inspection cost?
Our EV inspection packages start from $350 for a battery only test, $550 for a full standard inspection including the Aviloo battery test and vehicle assessment, and $795 for our premium package which includes video walkthrough and price negotiation support. All prices include GST.
How soon can you do the inspection?
We offer same day EV inspections across Melbourne, subject to availability. If you find a car you want to buy today, we can often have a mechanic there the same afternoon.
Do you come to the car's location?
Yes, we always come to wherever the car is. Whether it’s at a private seller’s home, a dealership, or a car yard, our mechanic travels to the vehicle. You don’t need to arrange transport or coordinate drop-offs.
Do I need to be present at the inspection?
You don’t have to be there, but you’re welcome to attend. Our mechanic will coordinate directly with the seller. After the inspection you’ll receive a full digital report with photos, and Standard and Premium package customers also get a personal phone call from the mechanic to walk through the findings.

Yes. We inspect all makes and models of electric vehicles including Tesla, BYD, Hyundai Ioniq, Kia EV6, MG ZS EV, Nissan Leaf, and more. Our Aviloo battery test is compatible with the vast majority of EV models sold in Australia.
What if the battery health is poor - should I still buy the car?
